St. James Parish in Okotoks is a vibrant and established Catholic Church community who required additional facility space for fellowship, meetings and administration.
The design philosophy challenge was to create a fluid connection between the existing church aesthetic and the new social gathering spaces. Through a collaborative process with the architects and the Parish representatives, the new social gathering spaces were designed to accommodate banquets for 300, smaller group meetings and sacramental preparation space. Offices were newly located to allow weekday functionality. Parking was expanded and improved. The addition blends suitably with the striking style of the original church design.
